Violet Retains Ward 3 Seat With Win Against Walker
Terri Violet keeps her seat on the St. Peters Board of Aldermen following an election night victory over challenger Michelle Walker.
The third time turned out to be the charm for Terri Violet. After coming up short in back-to-back elections for a seat serving Ward 3 on the St. Peters Board of Aldermen, Violet was the big winner in Tuesday's municipal elections. With all 9 precincts reporting, Violet defeated her challenger, Michelle Walker, 785 (56.23 percent) to 607 (43.48 percent). Violet's win keeps her on the board as one of the two representative for Ward 3. She attempted to gain a spot in both 2011 and 2012, but fell short at the polls each time. Two candidates have filed to run for the Ward 3 seat on the St. Peters Board of Aldermen in the April 2 election. As we approach the election, Patch will send each candidate a questionnaire to help empower voters to cast their ballots for the candidates they believe in. And we would like to include all of you in the process. The two candidates, Terri Violet and Michelle Walker, will compete for the remaining two years in Former Alderman Gus Elliot's term. Field Set for St. Peters Ward 3 Aldermen Seat
Incumbent Terri Violet and Michelle Walker are in the running for the spot on the St. Peters Board of Aldermen.
Filing is now closed and the field is set in the race for the St. Peters Ward 3 seat on the Board of Aldermen. After just more than a month of filing being open, two candidates have decided to run for the Ward 3 seat. Incumbent Terri Violet will face off against challenger Michelle Walker. The two candidates both filed on the first day, Dec. 11, meaning no one else decided to run after the first day of filing. Violet will be campaigning for the third straight spring. Incumbent Terri Violet and Michelle Walker have filed for the spot on the St. Peters Board of Aldermen.
Ward 3 residents interested in running for the Board Aldermen have until 5 p.m. to file. Filing for the April 2 municipal election closes today, Tuesday, Jan. 15. Interested Ward 3 residents who would like to challenge incumbent Terri Violet may file their intent to run for an elected office at St. Peters City Hall until 5 p.m. There is a $75 filing fee for the intent to run for an elected office. This April's election was not originally on the St. Peters election cycle. The seat is up for grabs only because Gus Elliott, who won the spot in 2011, resigned following a harassment investigation. Come on Gary VD get used to hearing it! And your candidate needs to quit saying she got 46% of the vote when she only got 43.48% to Terri Violet's 56.23%. That's Terri at 785 votes to Walker at only 607 votes, or just say Terri ran away with it, winning by 13% even though she was outspent by 4-1 by out of state PAC money and in state unions. more ›
