The crash took place just before 4 p.m. on Interstate 70 in St. Peters.
Three people were injured in a three-car crash Thursday afternoon in St. Peters. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, two cars were stopped for traffic ahead on westbound Interstate 70 just east of Mid Rivers Mall Drive just before 4 p.m.. A third vehicle, a 2011 Ford F-250 driven by Gary Sexton, 51, of St. Peters, failed to stop and struck the rear of another vehicle, a 2007 Chevrolet F-150 driven by James R. Todd, 27, of O'Fallon. The impact of the crash caused Todd's truck to collide with the first car, a 2001 Mercury Sable driven by Timothy S. Jackson, 22, of St. Charles. Alex Michael Stigall, 18, of St. Peters, and Jermel Ramonte Higgins, 18, of St. Charles, were arrested after police say the stole medication from a victim's hand as she was leaving an O'Fallon store.
Two teens were arrested by O'Fallon Police for stealing medication from a person at in the 1300 block of Highway K. According to a release from the O'Fallon Police Department, Alex Michael Stigall, 18, of St. Peters, and Jermel Ramonte Higgins, 18, of St. Charles, were arrested after police say the stole medication from a victim's hand just before 5 p.m. on May 8. Police said the two teens sat in the store listening to customers fill prescriptions so they could steal medication. Police said the two teens followed the victim out of the store and one of the subjects ripped the medication from her hand and ran toward a car. Joseph Saller, 57, won the prize in the Missouri Lottery's $1,000,000 Classic Cash game after picking up the ticket in St. Peters.
An O'Fallon man is $100,000 richer after finding a winning Missouri Lottery ticket in St. Peters. Joseph Saller, 57, picked up the big payday after one of his tickets in the "$1,000,000 Classic Cash" game came up as a $100,000 winner. According to a release from the Missouri Lottery, Saller lucked into the winning ticket by going into work on his day off. Saller told the Lottery that his boss at the St. Peters Red Lobster asked him into work on his normal day off. After finishing work, he stopped a the Shop 'n Save at 100 Jungermann Road to cash in $20 worth of winning Lottery he tickets he had purchased on his way into work. Police said nearly $5,000 worth of items were taken from unsecured lockers at Fort Zumwalt East and North on March 21.
Thefts at two Fort Zumwalt high schools has garnered an investigation from police. According to a report in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, police are investigating thefts from the boys locker rooms Fort Zumwalt East in St. Peters and Zumwalt North in O'Fallon. The report said that both incidents happened the afternoon of March 21. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports cell phones, cash and debit/credit cards were taken from unsecured lockers. The total value swiped was nearly $5,000. The incidents both happened the afternoon of March 21 at Fort Zumwalt East, 600 1st Executive Avenue in St. Peters, and Fort Zumwalt North, 1230 Tom Ginnever Avenue in O'Fallon, police said. Mike Swaringim and Scott Grasser will be sworn in at the April 15 board of education meeting.
Fort Zumwalt School District will not hold an election for the board of education this year. Two candidates filed for two open seats on the board. The terms of Scott Grasser and Carol Russell end in April. Nancy Coleman from Fort Zumwalt Administrative Services, said Mike Swaringim and Scott Grasser will be sworn in at the April 15 board of education meeting. Swaringim served on the Fort Zumwalt Board of Education from 1999 until his defeat in the 2011 election. He served as board president at various times throughout his terms. According to the district website, Grasser has served on the board since 2004. Fort Zumwalt School board members serve three-year terms.
