Swimmers can sign up at the St. Peters Rec-Plex to compete in the outdoor swim season.
Registration for the outdoor pool season in St. Peters is underway at the St. Peters Rec-Plex. Swim teams will be forming for kids ages 6-18 in St. Peters. Teams are available for all three outdoor pools—Laurel Park, Nob Hill and Golf & Recreation Center. Teams will compete in weekly meets against other teams in the St. Charles County Summer Swim League. The St. Peters Rec-Plex registration desk is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday to Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. St. Peters resident rates are $80 for the first child, $66 for a second child, and $60 for each additional child. Registration is now open for the Cinco de Mayo Shoot-Out golf tournament on Saturday, May 5. The event is open a four-person scramble with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. at the St. Peters Golf Course. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top places in multiple flights, plus there will be closest to the pin and longest drive contests. The fee is $45 per player and covers golf, a cart and lunch. The St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre is looking “Beyond the Brush” from June 8 to Aug. 13. The art show and competition encourages artists to look past the classic paint brush and onto other tools such as palette knives, fingers, etc. to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind works. Paintbrushes are allowed, however, other tools must also be incorporated into the piece. The show is open to both youth and adult, amateur and professional artists. Prizes will be awarded in the categories of Painting/Drawing and Mixed Media/Sculpture. Photography will not be accepted. The cost to enter as an Arts Centre member is $15 for up for to four pieces. Registration for the outdoor pool season in St. Peters kicks off April 14 at the St. Peters Rec-Plex. Swim teams will be forming for kids ages 6-18 in St. Peters. Teams are available for all three outdoor pools—Laurel Park, Nob Hill and Golf & Recreation Center. You, your family or your organization can help! Volunteers will meet at City Hall at8 a.m. to check in and enjoy free donuts, coffee and juice, then transport themselves to a creek segment to clean up trash.
