With a 5-3 vote the St. Peters Board of Aldermen approved a tattoo shop in the Dollar Tree Plaza.
The second time was the charm for Pandora Ink. After a contentious round of public comments with those in favor and those opposed trying sway the board, the St. Peters Board of Aldermen approved the tattoo establishment with a 5-3 vote. The board voted to amend a P.E.U. Development Agreement to allow the shop to open its doors in the Dollar Tree Plaza near Grand Teton and Mexico Road. Thursday's vote comes just six months after Pandora Ink was denied a chance to to open a shop at the same location. At the Aug. 23, 2012, the amendment failed to get the five votes needed for approval. For a second time, the fate of Pandora Ink will be in the hands of the St. Peters Board of Aldermen. In August 2012, the tattoo establishment asked the board to consider an amendment to a Planned Urban Development to permit Pandora Ink, a tattoo parlor, to open up shop in the Dollar Tree Plaza. Pandora Ink was one of two tattoo shops on the agenda that night. One located along Spencer Road near Menards was approved. Pandora Ink failed to get the five votes needed to pass. On Thursday, Pandora Ink will be back again in front of the board. With the issue coming to the board, St. Peters Patch asked readers to weigh in on the tattoo issue. Pandora Ink is once again trying to open a tattoo shop in the Dollar Tree Plaza in St. Peters.
Pandora Ink just won't take no for an answer, especially if the no wasn't clear in the first place. The tattoo company was back at the Justice Center for the third time in less than six months and it's second time in front of the Planning and Zoning Commission. Just like in August, Pandora Ink was seeking an amendment to a Planned Urban Development (PUD) to permit a tattoo establishment to be located at on the north side of Mexico Road, east side of Grand Teton Drive in the Dollar Tree Plaza. And, just like in August, the commission recommended approval of the amendment to the Board of Aldermen. Now comes the hard part for Pandora Ink—gaining board approval.
