A woman who stole $232,000 from her St. Peters-based employer was placed on five years probation after pleading guilty May 6. Melinda Tucker, of the 1900 block of Prairie Point Road in O’Fallon, credited her personal credit cards with refunds from Motor Vehicle Solutions, her employer, 128 times between March 2011 and May 2012. Tucker also is ordered to pay restitution at a rate of $200 per month until she is employed. When she is employed, the rate will go up at an amount determined by her probation officer. A 32-year-old man faces his fifth charge of driving while intoxicated after he could not complete a sobriety test because he could not stand up, according to a St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department report. Sean M. Herod, 32, of the 10100 block of Schultz in Foristell, was charged with DWI as a chronic offender, a class B felony. Nine days after Herod successfully completed probation for two DWI convictions in 2006, St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputy pulled Herod over for driving erratically on Highway 94 near Westwood Drive just east of Weldon Spring. A man robbed a woman by holding a knife to her throat, threatening to kill her and burn down her house Nov. 4 in the 900 block of North Second Street, St. Charles Police said. The man, John R. Walker, 42, stole a large amount of coins, the woman’s cell phone and her purse, police said. Walker had worked for the woman around her St. Charles home for about a week while staying at her house, according to the police report. The woman located him shortly afterwards at Phillips 66, 2240 North Third Street, using the stolen coins to buy liquor. She called police, who arrested him a short time later. A man who stole a gold chalice from Sts. Ann and Joachim Catholic Church in June pleaded guilty Oct. 4 to second-degree burglary and felony stealing. Sean McDonald, 20, of the 900 block of Cottontail Lane in St. Charles County, was given a suspended sentence and five years probation. If he violates probation, McDonald can be sentenced for the burglary and theft. As a condition of his probation, McDonald must complete a court-sponsored mental health program and cannot possess or use alcohol. The chalice, gold-plated over silver, is valued at $6,000. McDonald also took money from collection boxes at Sts. Joachim and Ann, 4112 McClay Road, and a set of golf clubs from the rectory garage, according to police reports. Afterwards, McDonald …

A St. Peters man on probation for drug possession was charged Thursday with attempted burglary. Drew Sherrow, 20, of St. Peters, cut the screen from a window in the 4100 block of Elkhart Lake Road in St. Charles County March 18, according to a St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department report. He started to reach in the window when a resident caught him. The suspect ran off, but a footprint outside the house matches his footwear, Sheriff’s deputies report. The victim’s car also had been searched and had a broken glove compartment door. Sherrow was on probation for drug possession charges.
