John Scott Thomas III received nine 30-year concurrent sentences, the longest of the three convicted child molesters.
The judge set the final sentence yesterday in a case that was described by law enforcement officials as "the most horrific" child abuse case they'd ever seen, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. The sexual assaults took place at the Tee Kay Mobile Manor off I-64 in unincorporated St. Charles County in 2011. Three girls, ages 7 months, 3 years and 5 years old, were sexualy assaulted by three neighbors who were babysitting. A St. Peters man pleaded guilty to six sex crimes Friday in St. Charles County Circuit Court. Jason Champion, 22, of the first block of Churchill Downs Drive in St. Peters, entered a guilty plea to two counts of sexual assault, two counts of second-degree statutory rape, and two counts of statutory sodomy. Circuit Court Judge Ted House sentenced Champion to seven years in prison on each count. The sentences will run concurrently. Prosecutors dismissed five charges against Champion: two counts of forcible rape, two counts of child molestation and one count of forcible sodomy. A St. Charles County man was indicted by a St. Charles County grand jury Friday on 11 counts of sex crimes, including forcible rape and child molestation. Jason W. Champion, 22, of the first block of Churchill Downs Drive in unincorporated St. Charles County near St. Peters, faces the following charges: The charges stem from incidents on four dates: June 4, 2011; June 24, 2011; May 21 and June 17. Champion originally was charged with forcible rape and statutory sodomy in St. Peters on May 21. An investigation uncovered more allegations, including some in St. Charles, according to police.
