St. Peters Police to Assist With St. Charles DWI Checkpoint

A DWI checkpoint will take place from May 3 to May 5 at an undisclosed location in St. Charles.

St. Peters Police will be assisting with a DWI checkpoint in St. Charles this weekend.  The St. Charles Police Department will be hosting a DWI checkpoint from May 3 until May 5 at an undisclosed location within the the city limits of St. Charles. The St. Charles County Sheriff's Department, St. Peters and St. Charles will team up to perform the checkpoint. The operation is funded by a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation, Division of Highway and Traffic Safety.

Task Force Busts 'Smurf Central' on Boone's Lick, Police Say

Drug Task Force detectives said a St. Peters man had a home that housed a meth lab and a pseudoephedrine collection point.

An anonymous tip led police to stake out a residence in the 200 block of Boone’s Lick Road in St. Charles and later make an arrest. Patrick Corbett, 44, of the 600 block of Country Lake in St. Peters, was charged Feb. 5 with distributing a controlled substance. St. Charles County Drug Task Force detectives said a tip indicated there was a meth lab operating at a home in the 200 block of Boone’s Lick Road, and one person was heading to the home to pick up a large amount of pseudoephedrine in exchange for finished meth. According to the tip, Corbett and a relative had a large meth operation at the home. During surveillance on the home, detectives saw the homeowner and Corbett walk from the home and drive away. Whizzinator Fails to Fool Parole Officer, Who Seizes Device

Man is charged with forgery for attempting to submit fraudulent urine sample.

A man on parole used a Whizzinator, a fake penis prosthetic device, in an attempt to provide a fake urine sample to the Missouri Probation and Parole Office, St. Charles police said. A parole officer "seized the device during the procedure," according to court documents. The man, Lawrence Hefele, 30, of the 3900 block of Fairview Street in South St. Louis, was charged Nov. 29 with forgery for attempting to submit the fake urine sample. Hefele was on probation for possession of a controlled substance. St. Charles police said the defendant attempted to provide a false urine sample, "knowing that it had been made so it purported a genuineness it did not possess." Man Keeps Violating Protection Order, Police Say

St. Charles Police said the man uprooted a tree and damaged a railing at the home of a woman who is under the protective order.

A man uprooted a tree and damaged a porch railing Nov. 24 while violating a protection order that bans him from a home in the 500 block of Crown Passage Drive, St. Charles Police said. David Lee Shrum, 53, of the first block of Wilbert Drive in St. Charles County north of St. Peters, was charged Monday with violating a protection order. St. Charles Police reported that Shrum damaged the railing and uprooted a tree in a backyard in the 500 block of Crown Passage in St. Charles. Police said he knew was important to the woman who lived there. Officers said Shrum has continually violated the protection order issued against him and said he has no intent of stopping the behavior. St. Peters Man Exposes Himself in Motel Office, Police Say

As he was arrested, the man told police he belongs to Hells Angels and the officer didn't know who he was messing with.

A St. Peters man exposed himself to a motel clerk Saturday, Nov. 24, St. Charles Police reported. Robert Rossa, 35, of the 1300 block of Brandywine Lane in St. Peters, was charged Monday with second-degree sexual misconduct. St. Charles Police said Rossa exposed his genitals to a clerk at the Rodeway Inn, 3800 Harry Truman Boulevard in St. Charles. The clerk told police he began masturbating in the motel office. The clerk screamed several times at Rossa to get him to leave. Man Held Knife to Woman's Throat During Robbery, Police Say

Police said the man, who was recently released from prison, also threatened to burn the woman's house down. The woman found him using the coins to buy liquor and notified police.

A man robbed a woman by holding a knife to her throat, threatening to kill her and burn down her house Nov. 4 in the 900 block of North Second Street, St. Charles Police said. The man, John R. Walker, 42, stole a large amount of coins, the woman’s cell phone and her purse, police said. Walker had worked for the woman around her St. Charles home for about a week while staying at her house, according to the police report. The woman located him shortly afterwards at Phillips 66, 2240 North Third Street, using the stolen coins to buy liquor. She called police, who arrested him a short time later. St. Peters Area Man Indicted on Sex Crimes with Young Girl

Police said the man had sexual contact with a 5-year-old girl three times in 2008.

A man was indicted Friday by a St. Charles County grand jury on three counts of statutory sodomy for having sexual contact with a 5-year-old girl. St. Charles Police said Thomas Louis Watkins, 30, of the 4100 block of Chisholm Trail in St. Charles County near St. Peters, had sexual contact with the girl on three occasions between February 2008 and November 2008. The contact occurred while he was watching a pornographic video in a St. Charles home. He is being held in St. Charles County jail on a $75,000, cash-only bond. Man Had Sexual Contact with 5-Year-Old, Police Say

The St. Charles County man had sexual contact with the girl in 2008, according to court documents.

A St. Charles County man faces criminal charges after police said he had sexual contact with a 5-year-old girl, according to court documents. Thomas Louis Watkins, 30, of the 4100 block of Chisholm Trail in St. Charles County just east of St. Peters, was charged Tuesday with three counts of first-degree statutory sodomy. St. Charles Police said Watkins was babysitting children for a family between February 2008 and November 2008 and had sexual contact with the girl on three occasions. Watkins admitted to police that he watched a pornographic video during the sexual contact. Nicked: Man Steals Hundreds of Razor Blades Valued at $4,100, Police Say

The man stole the blades at three Walmart stores in St. Charles County, and was arrested during a fourth attempt, police said.

A man stole at least 250 razor blade packages valued at $4,100 from three St. Charles County Walmart stores, police said. The packages contained at least 838 razor blades. The man was arrested in the Lake Saint Louis Walmart Friday as he attempted to steal more razor blades. Robert E. Ruch, 32, of the 5100 block of Waterman Blvd. in St. Louis, was charged Monday with three counts of felony theft and resisting arrest. A St. Charles Police report said Ruch stole 66 packages with five razor blades each and 82 packages with four razor blades each from the St. Charles Walmart, 2897 Veterans Memorial Parkway. St. Peters Man Found Drunk with Illegal Firearm

St. Charles Police said the man was drunk and loading the .22 cal Magnum.

A St. Peters man was charged Monday with unlawful possession of a firearm. St. Charles Police said in a report that Gabriel Kinder, 31, of the 1500 block of Garden Valley in St. Peters, was drunk and was loading a .22 cal Magnum handgun. Six people saw him loading the weapon in the 2400 block of Falcons Way in St. Charles, police said. After police arrived, they discovered that it was illegal for Kinder to possess a firearm. He had been convicted of a second-degree assault in 2002, and was found guilty of illegally possessing a firearm in 2008. Bond was set at $10,000.
