A fire broke out in the top floor of building six at the St. Peters apartment complex on Sunday evening.
A fire in the upstairs unit at the Vanderbilt Apartments on Sunday evening brought out crews from Central County Fire and Rescue and Cottleville. Just before 5:30 p.m. crews arrived on the scene to respond to the fire. Fire fighters broke out a front window of the apartment to ventilate the smoke. While a large crowd of onlookers watched, crews quickly put out the fire. It is believed the fire started in the question of the top-floor unit. CCFR blocked traffic on Spencer Road while putting out the fire.
