Super Bowl Commercials 2013: Which Were the Best? Which Were Your Favorites?

Super Bowl ads cost as much as $3.8 million in 2013. Which were the best Super Bowl commercials of 2013? Which were your favorite?

Millions of sports enthusiasts watched Super Bowl 47 on Super Bowl Sunday.  Even more, likely, tuned in to watch Super Bowl commercials.  According to Ad Age, CBS essentially sold out its ad inventory for Super Bowl XLVII at prices averaging between $3.7 million and $3.8 million. More from Ad Age: The usual coterie of big sponsors is more or less on board again -- hello, Pepsi! hello Bud Light! -- accompanied by opportunistic, smaller brands that want to make a big splash, such as Century 21 and GoDaddy.com, both of which are also returning to the game. In addition to Ms. Patrick and Mr. Fogle, celebrities and pseudo-celebs on the ad roster will include Willem Dafoe, Amy Poehler, Bar Refaeli, Tracy Morgan, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Psy, …

New Feature: Bites Nearby

Bites Nearby: Grab Some Pizza

Looking for something to eat at your Super Bowl party? St. Peters Patch has you covered.

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, St. Peters Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice:   It's Super Bowl week and no Super Bowl is complete without pizza. I'm a firm believer that there is no such thing as a bad pizza. A nice slice of pizza—and I mean real pizza not a salad on bread—just makes sense while watching football.  St. Peters has plenty of places to get good pizza, but one place stands out to me. After spending the first 19 years of my life in the St. Louis area, I went to college and got a job outside of the metro area. The result? Six years without easy access to the Imo's…

Super Bowl Food Made Easy

Stumpy's House of Bar-B-Que can help you create a satisfying Super Bowl supper.

Super Bowl food for a crowd does not have to be complicated, but it does have to be satisfying. With a few ingredients and a bit of pre-game preparation, you can turn out a crowd pleasing nacho and potato bar and stay out of the kitchen yourself during the big game. Next Sunday, my pre-game preparation will include a stop at Stumpy’s House of Bar-B-Que on Jungermann Road in St. Peters.  For my trial run this week, I gave them a call and ordered one pound of pulled pork, one pound of pulled chicken and one quart of beans. Additionally, I ordered one pound of smoked wings and one pound of smoked Andouille sausage to serve as appetizers. They also sell their own dry rub in a shaker. When I placed my order, they asked what type of sauce I …
