Zumwalt South's Abbington Named to International Bowl Roster

Chase Abbington will suit up for Team USA in the fourth annual International Federation of American Football International Bowl.

For the second straight year Fort Zumwalt South's Chase Abbington will be donning the red white and blue.  Abbington, a member of the 2012 of the USA Football Under-19 National Team for the IFAF World Championship, has been added to the roster for the 2013 International Bowl team. The University of Missouri commit will join his new teammates to compete in the fourth annual International Bowl set to take place the day before National Signing Day. The game will be played at 8 p.m. on Feb. 5 in Austin, Texas.  Abbington will represent Team USA in the the International Bowl, an annual competition among members in the International Federation of American Football (IFAF). Zumwalt South Star Chase Abbington Competes with National Team

Fort Zumwalt South running back/safety Chase Abbington takes second-place with under-19 football team.

Fort Zumwalt South Bulldog football player Chase Abbington geared up for his senior season by taking the field in Austin, Texas. Abbington was named to the IFAF Under-19 World Championship in late May. The team, comprised of 20 players from around the United States, competed in a weeks worth of games against other national teams. Team USA lost in the gold medal game on Saturday 23-17 to Canada.  The World Championships are an eight-team tournament conducted by the International Federation of American Football. Players and coaches lived at the University of Texas while playing in the tourney. The 2009 U.S. squad won the inaugural 2009 title.
