Terri Violet was sworn in to serve on the St. Peters Board of Aldermen following her win in the April 2 election.
If she keeps her current pace, Terri Violet will soon have the oath of office memorized. Violet, Ward 3, was sworn on Thursday night to retain her seat on the Board of Aldermen following her win in the April 2 election. It was the second time in nearly seven months Violet has taken the oath—two more times than any other board member during that time span. Despite the relative closeness of the two oaths, Violet said both are special to her. "I'm honored to do both," Violet said. "It was an honor originally to be chosen out the thousands of residents in Ward 3—that says a lot. ... To be chosen by the people, it shows the residents think Mayor [Len] Pagano made a good choice." While Violet doesn't have a favorite oath, her second one is …

Terri Violet keeps her seat on the St. Peters Board of Aldermen following an election night victory over challenger Michelle Walker.
The third time turned out to be the charm for Terri Violet. After coming up short in back-to-back elections for a seat serving Ward 3 on the St. Peters Board of Aldermen, Violet was the big winner in Tuesday's municipal elections. With all 9 precincts reporting, Violet defeated her challenger, Michelle Walker, 785 (56.23 percent) to 607 (43.48 percent). Violet's win keeps her on the board as one of the two representative for Ward 3. She attempted to gain a spot in both 2011 and 2012, but fell short at the polls each time. Despite the loses, Violet found herself on the dais at the St. Peters Justice Center in September following the resignation of Gus Elliott. Elliott, who defeated Violet in 2011, resigned following an investigation by the…

Incumbent Terri Violet and Michelle Walker are in the running for the spot on the St. Peters Board of Aldermen.
Filing is now closed and the field is set in the race for the St. Peters Ward 3 seat on the Board of Aldermen. After just more than a month of filing being open, two candidates have decided to run for the Ward 3 seat. Incumbent Terri Violet will face off against challenger Michelle Walker. The two candidates both filed on the first day, Dec. 11, meaning no one else decided to run after the first day of filing. Violet will be campaigning for the third straight spring. This time, however, Violet will be running her campaign as the incumbent candidate. Violet was appointed in September after Gus Elliott's resignation. While Violet's name has appeared on the ballot twice before, Michelle Walker is a newcomer. The Ward 3 resident The winner…

Ward 3 residents interested in running for the Board Aldermen have until 5 p.m. to file. Filing for the April 2 municipal election closes today, Tuesday, Jan. 15. Interested Ward 3 residents who would like to challenge incumbent Terri Violet may file their intent to run for an elected office at St. Peters City Hall until 5 p.m. There is a $75 filing fee for the intent to run for an elected office. This April's election was not originally on the St. Peters election cycle. The seat is up for grabs only because Gus Elliott, who won the spot in 2011, resigned following a harassment investigation. Terri Violet is first in line to file for the St. Peters Ward 3 seat. Michelle Walker is her only challenger so far after the first day of filing.
For the third straight spring Terri Violet will be running for a seat on the Board of Aldermen. Violet was the first person in line Tuesday morning when filing opened for the April 2, 2013 municipal election. Violet said she spent 26 hours at City Hall—including camping out on a chilly St. Peters night—in order to get her name on the ballot. The current Ward 3 representative is no stranger to the spring elections. Violet ran against Gus Elliott in 2011 and in a three-way race against Tommy Roberts and Burton Biermann in 2012. She lost both times, however she didn't fade from the public eye. When Elliott resigned in September, Violet was the choice of Mayor Len Pagano to fill out the term until the April election. The winner of the Ward …

Ward 3 Alderwoman Terri Violet's seat is the only open seat for April's election.
Filing season for the 2012 Municipal Election kicks off Tuesday morning. Starting at 8 a.m. applicants can file for office for the April 2, 2013, election. Unlike the past two years which saw half the board up for re-election, St. Peters has just one race that will appear on the April ballot. One Ward 3 seat, currently belonging to Terri Violet, will be on the ballot. The seat is up for grabs only because Gus Elliott, who won the spot in 2011, resigned following a harassment investigation. Violet was appointed in September to fill the seat until April's election. If Violet decides to run and keep her seat, it will be her third election in three years after running for the Ward 3 seat in 2011 and 2012. Violet was the lone challenger to …

The St. Peters Board votes unamiously to appoint Terri Violet to fill the vacant seat.
St. Peters Ward 3 once again has two representatives on the Board of Aldermen. During Thursday's special meeting to appoint a replacement for Gus Elliott, who resigned Sept. 13, the board unanimously approved Mayor Len Pagano's appointment of Terri Violet. Violet received affirmative votes from all the aldermen present. Fellow Ward 3 Alderman Tommy Roberts was absent from the meeting. Ward 2 Alderman Judy Bateman said she wished the vote could take place when Roberts was at the meeting since he would be working closely with Violet. Jerry Hollingsworth, Ward 2, said during the discussion portion that while he was planning on voting yes, he would rather the board not fill the seat with an appointment. He made it clear that it had nothing …

Jeffery, I doubt that Mr. Van Drew even reads this crap let alone make comments. Fred Oompahloompah does so to point out the mistakes and absurdities of certain practices of the city officials and the path the City of St. Peters is taking to becoming the New North City! We need an online publication called New North City Patch! BTW, I was there Thursday and witnessed all 5 of Terri's friends that…   more ›
