Man Points Gun at Girlfriend's Husband on I-70, Police Say

St. Peters Police said Nathaniel A. Gathing, 35, of Wentzville pointed the gun at another driver and then tried to evade police.

A Wentzville man is accused of pointing a handgun at his girlfriend’s husband while driving on Interstate 70 in St. Peters. Nathaniel A. Gathing, 35, of the 500 block of Great Oaks Meadow in Wentzville, was charged by St. Charles County prosecutors May 2 with unlawful use of a weapon. St. Peters Police said a driver was westbound on I-70 at the Cave Springs exit when a teal Camaro, driven by Gathing, pulled up next to him. He said Gathing began yelling at him, and the man rolled down his window to hear what the Gathing was saying. St. Peters Man Punched Wife, Grabbed Her Nose Caused it to Bleed, Police Say

The man posted $1,000 for bond as the woman requested he be released from jail. The judge barred him from contacting his wife.

A St. Peters man punched his wife and grabbed her nose, causing it to bleed on Feb. 10, police said. Stephan Surplus, 43, of the 1500 block of Athens Drive in St. Peters, was charged Feb. 10 with third-degree domestic assault. St. Peters Police said Surplus punched his wife in the arm twice, shoved her over and then grabbed her nose, causing a nosebleed. Officers reported that a witness said Surplus is an excessive alcohol drinker and uses cocaine. “The victim believes if he is released, he will return to the house and assault her again,” police wrote in a report. “The suspect appeared to be increasingly agitated at the prospect of being removed from the residence.” Surplus posted 10 percent of a $10,000 bond and was released Monday. Man Slammed Truck Into Wife's Car, Damaging Her Boyfriend's Car, Police Say

The woman's car was pushed into her boyfriend's car, which was pushed into a garage, according to a police report.

A St. Charles County man was charged with slamming his truck into his estranged wife’s car at 6 p.m. Saturday in St Peters. Mario Pinto, 41, of the first block of Mystery Lane near Wentzville, was charged Monday with two counts of first-degree property damage after police said he intentionally hit the car in first block of Duffy Court in in St Peters. St. Peters Police said in a report that the impact pushed his wife’s car into the back of her new boyfriend’s car. The impact pushed the second car into a garage, striking a freezer and a garage wall, according to court documents. Bond for Pinto was set at $15,000. Police: St. Peters Man Tried to Choke Wife in Bathroom

The woman suffered a cut across her nose during the incident, St. Peters Police report.

Robert B. Smith, 53, of the 100 block of Timber Run Court in St. Peters, was charged with third-degree domestic assault July 23. St. Peters Police said that on July 5, Smith pushed his wife into a bathroom wall twice, grabbed her throat and tried to choke her. Man Pours Gas on House, Threatens to Burn It With Wife, Children Inside

St Peters Police said the family smelled gasoline fumes coming inside the house.

A St. Peters man poured gasoline on his wife's house Tuesday and threatened to light it with his wife and children inside. Joseph Bottini, 32, of the 800 block of Millwood Drive in St. Peters, was charged with third-degree domestic assault. The charge includes causing someone to fear personal injury. St. Peters Police said that Bottini poured gasoline on the house and doors while his wife and four children were inside. The woman and a 13-year-old child said they could smell the gasoline fumes inside the house. Bond was set at $30,000. Bottini also is banned from contacting the victims.
