St. Peters Man Indicted for Alleged Possession of Child Pornography

Douglas S. Durrett, 40, was indicted in federal court on Tuesday morning in St. Louis.

A St. Peters man has been indicted for his alleged possession of child pornography in December 2010. Douglas S. Durrett, 40, was indicted in federal court on Tuesday morning in St. Louis.  If convicted, Durrett faces a penalty range of 10 to 20 years in prison. He could also be fined up to $250,000. In determining the actual sentences, a Judge is required to consider the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines, which provide recommended sentencing ranges.         The case was investigated by the St. Charles County Sheriff’s Cyber Crime Unit and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  Assistant United States Attorney Jennifer Roy is handling the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office.         As is always the case, charges set forth in an indictment are …

Superintendent Says Zumwalt West 7th Grade Teacher Didn't Share Student Shower Videos

In June, Matt Hansen, 38, of Lincoln County, was found in possession of child porn on his home computer. According to Superintendent Dr. Bernard DuBray, police say Hansen did not share the videos he took of campers in the shower.

A Fort Zumwalt West Middle School teacher who was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography earlier this month, also allegedly taped students undressing while away at camp.  Matt Hansen, 38, taught seventh grade math in the district since 2004, and was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the police investigation. According to a letter from Fort Zumwalt Superintendent Bernard DuBray posted on the district's website in June, Hansen also assisted with the district's Fifth Grade Outdoor Education Program. "Since his arrest, the Cyber Crimes Unit found evidence that Mr. Hansen secretly and inappropriately videotaped some students at the Outdoor Education Program," DuBray wrote, adding that he had not personally…

St. Peters Man Sentenced For Child Porn Distribution

Joseph Schroeter was sentenced to 192 months in prison.

St. Peters residnet Joseph Schroeter, 55, has been sentenced to 192 months in prison for his involvement in distributing child pornography in October and November of 2009.  The United States Attorney’s Office announced Schroeter's sentence on Thursday. Schroeter pled guilty last September to two felony counts of distribution of child pornography. On Thursday he appeared for sentencing before United States District Judge Henry Autrey.        This case was investigated by St. Peters Police Department, the St. Charles County Cyber Crimes Task Force, RCCEEG, the Vermont ICAC Task Force and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
