A man is accused of choking another man into unconsciousness Feb. 19 in the Harvester area, choked another man and then stole his ex-girlfriend’s car. Brooks Hoy, 21, whose address was listed in Columbia, was charged Feb. 19 with tampering with a car, two counts of third-degree assault, third-degree domestic assault and resisting arrest. A St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputy said Hoy was arguing with another man and choked him long enough that he went unconscious Feb. 19 in the 600 block of Emerald Meadows Court. A third man hit Hoy in the head with a baseball bat to make him let go, according to the report. The deputy said Hoy also choked another man, who was trying to make Hoy let go of the first man. A St. Peters man was charged Friday with choking two people. John V. Davis II, 38, of the 3000 block of Valley Vista Drive South in St. Peters, faces a second-degree domestic assault and third-degree assault charges. St. Peters Police said Davis was drunk and the reason for the assault in the man's home was unknown. Police said in a report that he choked and punched both victims. He also pulled an earring out of one victim’s ear, tearing her ear lobe. Both victims required medical treatment. One had a torn ear lobe and red marks on her face, neck, chest and arms. A man was charged Wednesday in St. Charles County Circuit Court with hitting and choking his pregnant girlfriend. Justin Tobin, 23, of the first block of Deborah Drive in St. Peters, was charged with third-degree domestic assault. St. Peters Police said Tobin injured his live-in girlfriend Tuesday by hitting and strangling her and threw a large metal washer at her. He also threatened to kill her and the baby, according to the police report. Bond was set at $5,000, and Tobin is to have no contact with the victim. A St. Louis County man is charged with assaulting a St. Peters woman and taking her purse on April 22. He was arrested Monday. The woman told St. Peters Police that Jerry Brown Jr., 23, of the Castle Point neighborhood in St. Louis County, hit, kicked and choked her and that she was unable to breathe. A police report noted linear bruises on her neck. She is Brown’s ex-girlfriend. Brown also took the victim’s purse and threw in into traffic on eastbound Interstate 70, but kept her cell phone’s computer chip. He is charged with second-degree domestic assault and robbery. Bond was set at $20,000.
