Family Gift Traditions on Christmas Day

Does your family open presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?

I have a sister who is 12-years younger than me, so in my family we have always exchanged presents bright and early on Christmas morning.  As soon as our baby sister was awake, so was the rest of the family. Down the stairs we went to see what Santa had in store.  Some families wait until Christmas morning to exchange gifts, while for others, it's tradition to open one present on Christmas Eve.  Over the past month, some Patch readers have shared their Christmas traditions, worst gifts and best gifts with us. Visit Santa, Reindeer on Saturday at Cottleville Fire Protection District

The 21st annual "Santa Day" event is located at 1385 Motherhead Rd., from 12-4 p.m.

The Cottleville Fire Protection District invites local families out to meet Santa and his reindeer on Saturday, Dec. 1. The 21st annual "Santa Day" event is located at 1385 Motherhead Rd., from 12-4 p.m.  "We would like to invite everyone to meet Santa, see live reindeer, visit emergency personnel, and take a look at our 100’ Aerial Platform," Assistant Chief Scott Freitag said in a news release.  St. Charles County Ambulance District and Cottleville City Police Department personnel will also be on hand throughout the day.  The Cottleville Fire Protection District provides food and gifts to needy families at Christmas time. Visitors are welcome to bring donations of an unwrapped toy, gift certificate, or non-perishable food item on "Santa …
