Thanks to agreements with St. Charles County and the federal government, the city could resurface a portion of Williott Road and Mid Rivers Mall Drive for $108,000.
St. Peters could complete two million-dollar road resurfacing projects next summer for just $108,000. Russ Batzel, Transportation and Development Services Group Manager, presented plans to the Board of Aldermen during the May 9 meeting for two major road projects. The plans call for the city to resurface a portion of Mid Rivers Mall Drive and most of Willott Road in the summer of 2014. The projects, which would take place at the same time, carry a $2.4 million price tag. However, thanks to proposed deals with the federal government and St. Charles County, St. Peters would contribute just $108,000 to the projects. MoDOT crews are working on rebuilding the interchange in St. Peters.
Construction on the diverging diamond intersection upgrade at Interstate 70 and Mid Rivers Mall Drive is underway in St. Peters. Work started in March as crews began to build a diverging diamond interchange and add an additional lane to westbound I-70. The $13 million project is being paid for with federal, regional and local money. The Missouri Department of Transportation expects the project to be completed in time for the holiday shopping season at Mid Rivers Mall. The project is expected to be completed by Oct. 31.

Construction on the diverging diamond intersection upgrade at Interstate 70 and Mid Rivers Mall Drive started Monday in St. Peters and is expected to be completed by Oct. 31. This week, crews will build a temporary slip ramp from westbound Interstate 70 to the North Outer Road, which will go to one-way traffic between the slip ramp and Mid Rivers Mall Drive. Starting the week of March 18, the loop ramps will be closed, which means drivers exiting from westbound I-70 to Mid Rivers Mall will have to use the slip ramp. The Missouri Department of Transportation will be hosting an open house public meeting to go over plans relating to the reconstruction project of the Interstate 70 and Mid Rivers Mall Drive interchange. MoDOT has plans to transform the busy area into a diverging diamond interchange. The plans are similar to what was done at the Interstate 270 and Dorsett Road interchange in Maryland Heights. Crews will be replacing sewer tops on the heavily-trafficked road between McMenamy Drive and Interstate 70.
St. Peters workers will be doing some work on Mid Rivers Mall Drive next week that will cause periodic lane closures. Crews will be replacing sewer tops on the heavily-trafficked road. The replacements will take place between McMenamy Drive and Interstate 70. Work is expected to start on Tuesday, Oct. 16, as long as the weather plays nice. City officials say the work could last a number of weeks. Road lanes will be closed as needed to complete this work.
