A St. Peters man who let two unknown armed robbers into a Wentzville home Sunday faces criminal charges for his actions, Patch reported earlier. The two men not only robbed and assaulted the victims one man also raped a woman in the home, according to court documents. Wentzville Police said Joseph French, 18, of the first block of Elm Court in St. Peters, let two men into a home in the 400 block of Wilson Street and told them where to find the victims in the home. Police said French knew that one person in the home just made $400 by selling his car. Police said French stayed overnight at the home on Sunday. A St. Charles County man was indicted by a St. Charles County grand jury Friday on 11 counts of sex crimes, including forcible rape and child molestation. Jason W. Champion, 22, of the first block of Churchill Downs Drive in unincorporated St. Charles County near St. Peters, faces the following charges: The charges stem from incidents on four dates: June 4, 2011; June 24, 2011; May 21 and June 17. Champion originally was charged with forcible rape and statutory sodomy in St. Peters on May 21. An investigation uncovered more allegations, including some in St. Charles, according to police. Champion is being held in St. Charles County Corrections in lieu of a $100,000, cash-only bond. His request for a bond reduction was denied July 25. For …

St. Peters resident Jason W. Champion is charged with rape and sodomy of a 16-year-old.
St. Peters resident Jason W. Champion was charged on Thursday with rape and sodomy, according to a report in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Police told the Post-Dispatch that Champion, 22 of the first block of Churchill Downs Drive in St. Peters, raped a 16-year-old girl on May 21. The alleged incident happened at an apartment of a mutual friend. According to the Post-Dispatch, the victim told police the two weren't alone in the apartment, but Champion waited until everyone was asleep before the rape began. Champion was jailed Thursday in lieu of a $100,000 cash bail. St. Peters Police are asking anyone who may have had similar contact with Champion to call 636-949-3320 or 636-949-3333.
