Roller hockey teams from 26 states and four Canadian provinces will be heading to St. Peters to take place in State Wars 8. The three ice rinks at the St. Peters Rec-Plex and Rec-Plex South have been re-purposed and transformed into roller hockey rinks for State Wars 8—the two-week roller hockey tournament that determines the United States Roller Hockey Championships. State Wars 8 begins at 7 a.m. on Aug. 1 and runs until Aug. 12, 2012. A full schedule is attached. Players from all over are selected to represent their home state or province to compete for a national title. The St. Louis Bandits will soon be hitting the ice at the St. Peters Rec-Plex South. The Bandits, who play in the North American Hockey League, will be leaving their home ice in Chesterfield for two Friday's in March to play two games in St. Peters. In a game March 2, the Bandits will skate on the ice at the Rec-Plex South against the visiting Janesville Jets. The game begins at 7 p.m. A week late, on March 9, the Bandits will host the Topeka Roadrunners at 7 p.m. All of the action will take place at Rec-Plex South, located next to the original Rec-Plex building at 5200 Mexico Rd. One of the best teams in the North American Hockey League will be coming to the St. Peters Rec-Plex South ice arena for a two-game trip. The St. Louis Bandits, a perennial Robertson Cup contender, will take on visiting Kalamazoo on Friday, Sept. 30, at 7 p.m., and again on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 6:45 p.m. All of the action will take place at Rec-Plex South, located next to the original Rec-Plex building, as the NAHL Midwest Division-leading Bandits step outside their usual home arena in Chesterfield. Bandits tickets cost $7 for adults 18 and up, or $5 for children/students ages 6-17, and are free for ages 5 and under.
