Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Molesting Relative

Prosecutors said Micheal A. Herbert also faces charges in his home state of Wisconsin.

A Wisconsin man was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to molesting a relative in St. Peters.

The girl was younger than 12 years old, according to court documents.

St. Charles County Circuit Court Judge Daniel Pelikan sentenced Micheal A. Herbert, 62, of Plover, WI, to 10 years each for charges of first-degree statutory sodomy and first-degree child molestation. The sentences will be served concurrently.

Herbert also was sentenced to four years on an incest charge.

Jillian Anderson, chief attorney for policy and development for the St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, said Herbert must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole.

When Herbert gets out of prison, he also must be GPS monitored for the remainder of his life, and is subject to lifetime registry on the state’s sex offender registry.

Herbert also faces charges in Wisconsin for sexual abuse against the girl.

“The bulk of the abuse occurred in Wisconsin,” Anderson said. “There were isolated incidents that occurred in St. Peters.”
