Week in Review: Bollig Bringing the Cup; Permit Approved for New Hotel and More

Planning and Zoning Approves Permit for New Courtyard by Marriott in St. Peters
  • Midas Hospitality wants to open a hotel/restaurant and transmission with towers/antennas attached to a structure. The site, located at Veterans Memorial Parkway and Jungermann Road is the former Holiday Inn and Garden Plaza Hotel. The group closed its sale on July 1 and closed the facility. Midas plans to demolish the old hotel and conference space and replace it with a new 125-room Courtyard by Marriott. While the site plans are not totally finished, Midas said the plans include using the whole lot to build both a hotel and a restaurant.

St. Peters Police Looking for Gold's Gym Locker Room Thief
  • St. Peters Police are looking for a man they believe is connected with a theft inside of Gold’s Gym, located at 5230 Highway 94. Police were contacted by a male victim on June 13 who told officer his wallet had been stolen from his gym locker. The victim told police secured his gym bag, wallet and keys inside of a gym locker for approximately one hour and secured it was a lock.  When he returned, he noticed his lock was missing and his wallet, containing credit cards and cash was gone from his gym bag.
Neighbor Prevents Man From Stealing His Father's Pickup, Police Say
  • A neighbor prevented a St. Peters man from stealing his father’s pickup truck, by blocking the street with his vehicle, police said. Kyle Patrick Kostos, 24, of the first block of Kelly Leaf Drive in St. Peters, was charged July 1 with tampering with a vehicle and felony theft.
