St. Peters Pest Professional Not Bugged By Critters

Spring weather can bring bugs and other pests into your home and place of business, to make sure the problem is handled right, let a professional get rid of the pests.

With temperatures warming outside and the official start of spring just around the corner, bugs and critters seem to be showing up everywhere and sometimes they can show up in your home.

If you find yourself in the unlucky position of getting some unwanted house guests in the form of ants, rodents, insects, bugs, or other pests, you may be tempted to try and dispose of the varmints yourself. However, if you’re not careful, you may end up making the problem worse or not getting rid of the pests completely.

Pest removal is often best left to the professionals.

Pest Pro Services is a family owned and operated pest removal business in the St. Peters area. Owner Harold Clifton said he has seen clients end up spending more time and money when they try and fail to get rid of pests themselves and end up having to call a professional in anyway.

One big area of concern for many when treating their homes and businesses for the removal and prevention of pests is the safety and environmental impact of the chemicals applied. While Clifton said his treatments are not officially ‘green,’ everything he uses has been approved by the Environmental Protection Agency.

“Everything I use is applied per label directions, but people have to remember, it’s a toxic chemical that is designed to kill, and you need a professional to apply it, so it’s applied in an environmentally friendly manner,” Clifton said.

Clifton said one way homeowners can prevent pests this spring is by keeping debris away from their foundation, such as leaves that may have blown around over the winter and fall months. Clifton said doing so will not only help prevent unwanted pests from making nests in the foundation, but it also helps to get chemicals down where they need to be if the home will be treated for pests.

Clifton said he’s been in the pest control business since 1984, and began by working for large corporate pest companies, but he said he has owned and operated his own business for the past three and half years.

Clifton said the main reason he went into business for himself was because he didn’t feel he was able to give his clients the best customer service possible when he was under some of the bigger corporate pest control company time limits when on a job.

“I got tired of some of the corporate policies, I’m very service orientated, and I didn’t feel like all of the customers were being treated the way I wanted to be treated,” Clifton said of working for corporate pest companies.

Clifton said now that he owns his own business, when he is on a job in someone’s home or place of business, he can take the time explaining what he did and he likes to show his customers how to prevent future pest infestations.

Clifton said his company is a home-based business, and for the convenience of his clients, he gives most estimates over the phone and goes directly to his customer’s homes and businesses.

Clifton said he has an A-plus rating with the Better Business Bureau, and he’s an ambassador at the St. Peters Chamber of Commerce.

Pest Pro Services serves all of St. Peters, as well as St. Charles County, in addition to some parts of Lincoln and St. Louis Counties.
