370 Lakeside Park Officially Opens Despite Rain

St. Peters' newest attraction is now open for business after Thursday's ribbon cutting.

A little rain couldn't stop the long-awaited opening of 370 Lakeside Park.

Mayor Len Pagano, the St. Peters Board of Aldermen and many others gathered at the new park for the grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday afternoon. Umbrellas and hoods were popular for visitors amid the drizzle. But the rain didn't stop the city from opening the newest attraction.

In fact, Mayor Pagano said he believed rain to be good luck.

While the park is open, it is not yet completed. For now, visitors can rent RV pads, go fishing, use biking and hiking trails and rent watercraft. In the future, the park is expected to have pavilions, an archery range, more RV pads, a dog park, volleyball courts, a marina and a playground.

The entrance to the park is located just north of the interchange of Highway 370 and Harry S. Truman Boulevard.
