City Seeks Volunteers For Celebrate St. Peters Event

St. Peters needs help for the inaugural event at 370 Lakeside.

St. Peters is gearing up for a fall party at 370 Lakeside Park, but is looking for a little help.

The city is planning Celebrate St. Peters 2011 from Friday, Sept. 16, to Sunday, Sept. 18. The event will  will be the first big event at the .

Celebrate St. Peters 2011 will include three days of freeentertainment with performances by nine different bands. The eventwill have a kids’ area with games, a bounce house, etc.

The city is also going to to host a 10K run and a one-mile family fun run/walk. Another event for Saturday is theChannel Cat Kayak Crawl competition, which will raise money needed for large shade trees to enhance the park. There will be a celebrity paddleboat race  in the harbor on Sunday, as well as a dance and music from local groups. All three days, we’ll also have  food and beverages, including a beer tent.

To make this celebration run, the city is for volunteers to assist with this event. With all of theactivities going on, there are a lot of opportunities for individuals and groups to get involved, such as helping with the 10K run, directing traffic and parking, food and game booths, etc.
