Increased Overnight Work on Mid Rivers Mall Drive Slated for Monday

Drivers can expect lane closures as road crews replace concrete as part of the Mid Rivers Mall resurfacing project.

Road work on Mid Rivers Mall Drive will continue Monday night, forcing more lane closures.

As part of the , drivers will have to deal with lane closures beginning tonight, Aug. 29, as concrete is replaced between McMenamy Road and Veterans Memorial Parkway near Interstate 70.

The concrete replacement will take place on the inside northbound lanes and some northbound turn lanes in this area of Mid Rivers Mall Drive starting on the evening of Monday, Aug. 29, and continuing through Friday morning, Sept. 2, weather permitting. Work will be done late at night and into the early morning. Crews are expected to start each night at 8 p.m. and finish at 6 a.m.

While the work will be done at night, some portions of these lanes will be closed both day and night to allow the new concrete to cure. Various lane closures can be expected throughout the week and over the weekend through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5.

began on the evening of Monday, Aug. 22, on the northbound outer lane of Mid Rivers Mall Drive. All lane closures will reopen on the northbound outer lane by the time construction switches to the remaining northbound lanes on Monday evening, Aug. 29.

Southbound lanes in this area will be impacted next in the coming weeks. Concrete replacement work is expected to continue on Mid Rivers Mall Drive through Sept. 29.

Drivers can find signs posting alternate routes to reach businesses in the construction area. Alternate routes include South Church Street to McMenamy Road, Grand Teton Drive to Suemandy Drive, and Veterans Memorial Parkway to the north entrance to Mid Rivers Mall.

The Mid Rivers Mall Drive Resurfacing project is taking place between Mexico Road and Veterans Memorial Parkway. The resurfacing project is removing damaged concrete pavement, curb and gutter, and sidewalk sections, adding and upgrading sidewalk accessible ramps, diamond-grinding new and existing concrete pavement, and resurfacing existing asphalt pavement.

In addition to pavement and sidewalk repairs, the traffic signals at the Mid Rivers Mall Drive intersections of Suemandy Drive, Mid Rivers Plaza commercial entrance, and McMenamy Drive will be removed and replaced.
