St. Peters Resident Sustains Minor Injuries in Two-Car Accident

Belinda L. Edler totaled her car after colliding with another driver on Interstate 64.

A 20-year-old St. Peters woman was taken to St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis last week following a two-car accident.

Belinda L. Edler, of St. Peters, sustained minor injuries following an accident at 2:29 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, on eastbound Interstate 64 just two miles east of Winghaven Boulevard. Edler's car was totaled after a failed lane change.

According to the accident report, Edler attempted to make a lane change when her vehicle struck the front of a car driven by Yuriy Matvienko of Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada. Following the contact, Edler's 1998 Chevrolet Monte Carlo traveled of the left side of the roadway, struck the cable median barrier and was overturned.

Matvienko sustained minor damage to his car. Edler's was totaled and the driver was taken by St. Charles County ambulance to the hospital with minor injuries.
