The Daily Dose is a look at the weather, what you may have missed and what's coming up on St. Peters Patch. This is the July 5, 2011 edition.

Late Monday evening I took my dog out for our regular before-bed walk. 

As we walked, the sounds of fireworks exploded filled the air. Taking a deep breath, all I could smell was the sulfur from the fireworks. It smelled, and sounded, like the Fourth of July—which was weird because I thought fireworks .
