St. Peters Police Looking for Missing Developmentally Disabled Adult

  • St. Peters Police are looking for a missing developmentally disabled adult female. Police said that Cara Ascencio, 21, left her residence after getting into an argument with a family member and has not been heard from since Jan. 31.  Police said Ascencio does not have a cell phone or access to any money or credit cards. Ascencio has a brain injury and other mental health issues which makes her mental capacity that of a 12 year old. Ascencio is identified as a white female, 5-foot-6, 185 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. 

Thousands of Gowns: Metro St. Louis Cinderella Project Sets Up at Mid Rivers Mall

  • Ben Trotter, 22, tried to organize an armful of glittery, beaded prom dresses by color at the Metro St. Louis Cinderella boutique in Mid Rivers Mall on Tuesday. Trotter was one of several students from the Art Institute of St. Louis in St. Charles who came out to help set up the boutique. During the next two weeks, girls who would not otherwise have the chance to go to prom will get to pick out a prom dress for free.

$2.2 Million Winning Lotto Ticket Sold in St. Peters

  • Two big-winning Lotto tickets were sold this weekend in St. Peters and Florissant. At the Aro-Mart on 3755 Harvester Road in St. Peters, a Lotto player matched all six numbers drawn on Feb. 16 to win the $2.2 million jackpot prize. The lucky numbers were:  1, 8, 27, 36, 37 and 40.

Northern Tool and Equipment Expands to St. Peters

  • A Minnesota-based tool company plans to open a new location in St. Peters. Northern Tool + Equipment is a privately-held company that began in Burnsville, Minn. in 1981. The company sells of everything from hand tools to hydraulic equipment to tractors in both a catalogue and in retail stores.

New Emergency Communications Tower in St. Peters Could Reach 400 Feet

  • Last week, St. Peters Patch brought you some background information about the new St. Charles County emergency communications system, with its network of 12 new towers, that was designed to bring the county into compliance with FCC mandates. Patch spoke with Jennifer George, director of policy for St. Charles County about some specifics for the towers. The St. Peters tower is planned for the St. Charles County Highway Department property at 2480 St. Peters Howell Road. The proposed height for this tower is 400 feet.
