Fire At Shamrock's Causes Substantial Damage

No cause has been determined yet for Tuesday morning's fire.

A fire Tuesday morning at Shamrock's Pub and Grill has caused significant damage, closing the restaurant until further notice.

The fire was reported at 6:45 a.m. when someone saw smoke coming from the building, staffers told Patch.

The fire started in the kitchen, but inspectors have not yet determined the cause. No one was in the building at the time and no one was hurt.

Shamrock staff said that the pub and grill would definitely rebuild. A post on the pub's Facebook page suggested that would be at least a few weeks before the pub could reopen.

Shamrock's Facebook fans had encouraging words:

  • Chris Girone said, "In all seriousness, I hope that when you guys rebuild you make it bigger and stronger and it lasts 100 years! Take care friends, so glad you are all safe!"
  • Kevin Shull said, "Sad to hear! We hope you're able to open soon! We're moving to Columbia and I wanted to be able to enjoy some delicious beer cheese before we go."
  • Paul Brown said, "Glad no one was hurt. Sad you guys won't be open for awhile, but look forward to the new and improved Shamrocks!!!"
