Man Charged After Robbing St Peters Check-N-Go at Gunpoint

A man faces criminal charges for robbing the Check-N-Go in St Peters on May 5. The man also has been charged or is a suspect in several St. Louis County robberies.

Darrell Bolden, 37, of the 2100 block of Edmund in South St. Louis County, was charged with two counts each of first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.

St. Peters Police said Bolden was wearing a green ski mask and carried a silver revolver when he entered the Check-N-Go at 4122 Mexico Road in St. Peters May 5.

He told those inside, “This is a robbery,” “I want the money,” and “Ain’t nobody going to get hurt,” according to the police report.

Police said a customer gave him $400 of her own money and a clerk handed over $1,527, police said.

Bolden also is accused in a robbery attempt at Mattress Giant in Mehlville, in which he struggled with an employee, according to St. Louis County Police. During the struggle, he pointed the gun at the employee’s head and pulled the trigger;the gun misfired and no one was injured according to a police report.

A third robbery charge was filed against Bolden in St. Louis County Thursday.

Bail for the St. Peters robbery was set at $100,000 cash. Bolden is being held in St. Louis County jail.
