Man Held Knife to Woman's Throat During Robbery, Police Say

Police said the man, who was recently released from prison, also threatened to burn the woman's house down. The woman found him using the coins to buy liquor and notified police.

A man robbed a woman by holding a knife to her throat, threatening to kill her and burn down her house Nov. 4 in the 900 block of North Second Street, St. Charles Police said.

The man, John R. Walker, 42, stole a large amount of coins, the woman’s cell phone and her purse, police said. Walker had worked for the woman around her St. Charles home for about a week while staying at her house, according to the police report.

The woman located him shortly afterwards at Phillips 66, 2240 North Third Street, using the stolen coins to buy liquor. She called police, who arrested him a short time later.
