Man Injured After Jumping Off Cave Springs Overpass Onto Interstate 70

A man jumped off the overpass on Wednesday afternoon and was taken to the hospital with injuries.

A man was taken to a hospital after jumping off the Cave Springs Boulevard overpass into the westbound lanes of Interstate 70.

The man, who may have been emotionally disturbed or under under the influence of drugs or alcohol jumped off the bridge at about 3 p.m. on Wednesday, according to a report in the  St. Louis Post-Dispatch. 

The report says that police got a call about a suspicious person pacing on the overpass, located on the border of St. Charles and St. Peters.When an officer pulled up in his patrol vehicle, the man jumped, St. Charles police told the Post-Dispatch.

The man was conscious when he was taken to a hospital, but his condition was unknown.

It is not known if the man caused a traffic crash of if a car hit him, a St. Charles police spokesman told the Post-Dispatch.
