Police: Man Duped by Fake-Grandson in Money-Wiring Scheme

The following reports were provided by the St. Peters Police Department.

Felony Stealing

  • An unknown person called victims in the 1400 block of Westin stating he was their grandson. The unknown person claimed he had an emergency and the victims wired “him” money.  After the money was wired, it was discovered the person calling was not their grandson. It is unknown to whom the money went or where it was sent.
  • Female suspect arrested for stealing at 4 Mid Rivers Mall Drive. 
  • The victim’s wallet stolen from gym parking lot in the 3600 block of North St. Peters Parkway. The debit card was used at another location by the unknown suspects.
