Police Blotter: Homeowner Pays $1,100 for Work That Never Happened

Stealing (Felony)  
  • Victim paid suspect $1,100 to do work on his home in the 1800 block of Fairwood Forest Drive.  The suspect cashed his check and never returned to do any work.  Suspect refused to return victim or officers phone calls.  Active investigation.  
DWI
  • During a sobriety checkpoint at Mid Rivers Mall Drive/Mid Rivers Mall Circle, suspect came through the checkpoint and stated he was drinking earlier in the day.  When he exited the vehicle, it was discovered he was in possession of marijuana. Suspect was arrested for DWI and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Suspect was released pending application of warrants to a sober driver.
