St. Peters Driver Avoids Injury in Interstate 70 Collision

Nicholas Jones was unharmed in a two-vehicle crash on Friday night.

A St. Peters man escaped injury after being involved in a collision on Interstate 70 last week.

Nicholas Jones, 22, was involved in a two-vehicle crash just after 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12. According the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Jones was traveling eastbound on Interstate 70 in lane three. Another vehicle, a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire driven by 17-year-old Alexia Denson, of St. Louis, was entering I-70 from Cypress Road. Denson changed lanes to the left and the left side of her vehicle struck the front right of Jones' 2008 GMC Box Truck.

Neither driver was injured in the crash, however, a 12-year-old passenger in Denson's car was taken to DePaul Hospital with minor injuries.

Denson's car sustained moderate damage in the crash. Jones had just minor damage to his vehicle.

Both drivers, and the 12-year-old passenger, were wearing safety devices.
