Police said the woman entered the store at about 8:55 p.m. The woman was wearing a black hooded jacket, blue jeans and a black ski mask. The jacket was described as possibly similar to a Carhartt-style jacket. The woman was carrying a black semi-automatic gun.

According to police, the woman walked behind the counter and demanded money. The employee didn't immediately cooperate with the suspect, police said a language barrier may been an issue. The woman then struck the employee in the face with the gun.

The woman was unable to get the money from the cash register and then she attempted to take the store employees’ purse. The employee grabbed the purse back. The store employee then used her cell phone and called 9-1-1.

The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction. During the robbery, there was an unidentified black male standing outside the door of the business and St. Peters Police believe he may also be involved.

The store employee did not sustain any life-threatening injuries.

If anyone has any information on the identity of the female suspect or any possible accomplices, they are asked to contact Detective Paul Barish at 636-278-2244 ext. 3531 or 636-278-2222.
