St. Peters Woman Injured After Running Red Light

The crash took place at Mid Rivers Mall Drive and Highway 364.

Failure to stop at a red light sent a St. Peters woman to hospital early Wednesday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 63-year-old Ruth Leach didn't stop for a solid red light at Mid Rivers Mall Drive and Highway 364 just after 11 a.m. on Nov. 21. Leach traveled into the path of a second vehicle, driven by 20-year-old St. Charles resident Sarah Carollo. The two cars then collided.

Following the crash, Leach was taken to Barnes Jewish in St. Peters by St. Charles County Ambulance. She is listed as having minor injuries.

Carollo's 1998 Honda CRV sustained minor damage in the crash. Leach's 2001 Kia Sportage had moderate damage.

Both drivers were wearing safety devices.
