Three Seriously Injured in Drunk Driving Accident in St. Peters

A 23-year-old Wentzville man is being charged with driving while intoxicated, two counts of assault and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

An accident caused by a drunk driver sent three to a nearby hospital with serious injuries Monday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 23-year-old James Rogalski was driving northbound on Route C at 4 p.m. on Monday when he failed to negotiate a curve near Salt River Road, traveled off the left side of the road and overturned the car, consequently ejecting two female passengers in the car, identified as Cassandra Kozemczak and Kelsy Taylor, both 21 and from St. Peters. 

All three were seriously injured in the accident and taken to St. Joseph Health Center via ambulance.

The site of the accident was located just north of the Mid Rivers Mall Drive and Interstate 70 intersection.

Rogalski, of Wentzville, was charged with driving while intoxicated, two counts of assault and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol arrest reports.

None of the injured were using safety devices, the highway patrol said.
