St. Peters Aldermen Set for Meeting Tonight

St. Peters Board of Aldermen will meet at 5 p.m. tonight at the Justice Center.

The St. Peters Board of Aldermen shouldn't spend too much time in the for Thursday's meeting. 

The agenda for the first October meeting is far from lengthy. The work session, which begins at 5 p.m., contains just seven items. Following the work session, at the regular meeting, has just five voting items for the Board to consider.

The biggest item on the work session is the first. The Mayor will lead a discussion regarding elected officials' governmental concerns. The item wants to require officials to contain the name of the resident involved when expressing governmental concerns.

Other items on the work session agenda include: 

  • The Huntleigh Estates Homeowner's Association has requested two subdivision monuments to be placed within the right-of-way of Barkwood Trails. The Homeowner's Association will be in charge of maintaining the signs after the city installs them. 
  • The Board will hear a purchase request to buy Mississippi Lime for hydrated lime purchases. The city of St. Peters uses about 1,350 tons of hydrated lime annually for treating the groundwater supply at the city's water treatment plant. The annual cost to purchase the lime will be about $202,500.

  • Bill No. 11-153 proposes to prohibit the use of golf carts on city streets, and places further restrictions on All-Terrain Vehicles and motorized bicycles. The item will change and modify city code.
  • The Board will vote to authorize the City Administrator of St. Peters, Missouri to enter into a contract with Freise Construction Company for improvements to the Public Works Building.

The work session begins at 5 p.m. with meeting scheduled for 7 p.m.
