Athlete of the Week: Lutheran's Brett Collins Selected As Top Football Performer

The Cougars' Brett Collins is the fan choice for top football player from Week 1 of the high school season.

The wins just keep coming for Brett Collins and the Lutheran Cougars. 

After helping his team snap an 18-game losing streak in Week 1 of the 2012 high school football season, Lutheran quarterback Brett Collins was nominated for the Patch St. Charles County Athlete of the Week. Collins, with 76 percent of the vote, came out on top.

Who was the top football player from Week 1 of the 2012 season?

  • Brett Collins—: 48 votes (76 percent)
  • Jordan Moody—: 0 votes (0 percent)
  • Jordan Norwine—: 15 votes (23 percent)

Collins had a hand in all four touchdowns for the Cougars. As the quarterback, Collins was 12-for-21 for 209 yards and three touchdowns against no interceptions. As a running threat, Collins carried the ball 17 times for 73 yards and a score.
