Vote Now: Choose the Top St. Charles County Baseball Player

One of the sure-fire signs of spring, besides sneezing fits for those inflicted with seasonal allergies, is baseball.

Diamonds all across St. Charles County has been busy in the early part of the high school baseball season. Even though the season is just two weeks old, plenty of action has taken place on the field.

This week, we're asking you Patch readers to decide which baseball player around the County has had the biggest impact in the early part of the season.

The nominees are: 

Ryan March—: The month of March was very good for Mr. March. Fort Zumwalt East's Ryan March excelled with the bat and on the mound for the Lions. While toeing the rubber, March compiled a 2-1 record with a sparkling 0.95 ERA—he's given up just three runs on the season. With the bat, March is hitting .333 (9-for-27) with a team-best 10 RBIs.

Braxton Martinez—: The Knights' offense has gotten a big boost from Braxton Martinez. The Howell North senior, and future Saint Louis University product has been mashing this season to the tune of a .652 batting average (15-for-23). He leads the team in hits (15), doubles (four), homers (one) and RBIs (12). 

Cory Canterbury—: The Eagles' Cory Canterbury is powering the offense this season. In 18 at-bats, Canterbury has nine hits for a sparkling .500 batting average. Of his nine hits, seven are singles and he has one double and one triple. He also has driven in five runs on the year and has scored five himself. 

Josh Abegg—: Holt's Josh Abegg has been getting the job done with his bat and his arm. He leads the Indians offense with 12 hits on the season. He's hitting .387 with five runs scored and three RBIs. On the mound, Abegg is 2-0 with one complete game. He's sporting a 1.08 ERA on the season.
